Reed Point Schools is a small class C school with approximately 60 students K-12 annually. Currently we have thirteen teachers and seven support staff. We are located in south central Montana between Billings and Bozeman, right off I-90. We are within easy drive access to Red Lodge Mountain and Bridger Bowl ski areas, as well as the Beartooth, Absaroka and Crazy Mountain ranges. The Yellowstone River flows alongside the community providing other recreational opportunities. Annually Reed Point hosts The Great Montana Sheep Drive and is a stop for the Yellowstone Boat Float. Housing is generally available in our surrounding communities of Columbus and Big Timber.
Teachers have some great things to say about our school community. "We are a small
town, so we have great
relationships with each other, our students, and our community members. We believe
in each other and in our students; they believe in us too; therefore, we encourage
and push each other to grow (teachers in our careers, students in their academics
and other activities), and we have a positive school/family environment." says Mrs.
Ketola, our English teacher. Our art teacher shares, "I think the best part of working
at Reed Point is having small class sizes, because it allows you to connect and work
one on one with the students. Also the staff here is absolutely amazing. They are
fun and always willing to help out." Our kindergarten educator says, "I love our kids!
We have some of the funniest, hard working kids here and I feel like we make it a
place where they can be themselves. As a staff we're pretty easy going personality-wise,
which is nice."
Each of our classrooms include interactive boards and students have 1 to 1 access to both iPads and Chromebooks. Our FCS classroom has two kitchen units. Our small community supports our school and FCCLA tremendously. Each year we have competitors at the National FCCLA Conference.
