Situation #6 Paternal Grandparents Descedents
Example: Survivors are bloodline paternal aunts
Assume you pass away without a written will. Your only survivors are the descendants of your maternal grandparents and descendants of your paternal grandparents.
One half passes to your paternal descendants by right of representation. The other half passes to your maternal descendants by right of representation.
Because your paternal grandparents weren't living at the time of your death, your bloodline relatives split the 1/2 that your grandparent would have received. These are your three aunts. You uncles do not inherit because they are not a bloodline relative of your paternal grandparent.
If this is not the division you desire, then you need to write a will.
