Gnophaela vermiculata
Gnophaela vermiculata is a distinctive day-flying tiger moth. The adult moth is black and white with a 20- to 25-mm forewing (see below). Adult moths can be seen flying in open forest meadows and generally are found at medium to high elevations from June until early fall. The caterpillar is also distinctively colored and prefers to feed on mountain bluebells.
