Data Science

Working with the Gianforte School of Computing and the Department of Mathematical Sciences, students attain foundational training in data analysis, data visualization, data mining, statistics, data ethics, computer science and more. By learning how to solve a wide variety of data-driven problems, a student will earn a marketable degree that also provides a strong foundation for graduate study.

B.S. in Data Science

This 120-credit data science Bachelor of Science degree at Montana State University includes coursework from computer science, statistics, mathematics, business, English and the MSU Library. Data science is an interdisciplinary field that extracts knowledge and insights from diverse data. The degree is a flexible one that enables students to gain domain expertise in data-intensive application areas of interest such as civil engineering, political science or econometrics.
