Job Descriptions:
Positions are hourly, starting at $15 per hour base rate.
ASMSU Events Team is the student program board that works to bring MSU students an array of fun and valuable activities and events on and off campus, including concerts, comedy shows, trivia nights, motivational speakers, and more.

The ASMSU Director of Events is a Student Director working with the Associated Students of MSU (ASMSU-the student government association serving as the elected voice of MSU-Bozeman students). ASMSU Student Directors work under the umbrella of the Office of Student Engagement and are responsible for managing programs for students and the campus community-in this case, campus events. Their programs and positions (ASMSU Events Team) are paid for by student fee dollars.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Director of Events will be responsible for leading and carrying out the mission of ASMSU Events.
- The Director of Events will attend weekly office hours (20hours/week).
- The Director of Events will serve as direct supervisor to 3 student ASMSU Events Team Directors, 1 ASMSU Events Team Virtual Community Associate, 1 ASMSU Events Team Marketing Associate, and 2 ASMSU Events Team General Associates. Conduct 1-1 meetings twice a semester to provide guidance and mentorship.
- The Director of Events will organize and co-lead ASMSU Events Team orientation and retreats.
- The Director of Events will organize and facilitate weekly ASMSU Events Team meetings and manage meeting records and agendas.
- The Director of Events will lead the ASMSU Events Team to bring new and innovative events to campus.
- The Director of Events will provide strategic direction and vision on ASMSU Events Team events and delegate tasks to ASMSU Events Team members to ensure successful event organization and execution.
- The Director of Events will facilitate and create event learning outcomes and experience planning.
- The Director of Events will facilitate and lead event evaluation.
- The Director of Events will serve as a liaison between the ASMSU Events Team and the ASMSU and Student Engagement and Leadership Advisor.
- The Director of Events will foster partnerships with offices and other units at MSU to enhance and expand the student experience at MSU. This includes event collaboration and serving on university committees as asked and assigned.
- The Director of Events is responsible for managing a budget which includes routine presentations to the ASMSU Senate and Finance Board, in addition to advocating for any supplemental funds that may be needed.
- The Director of Events will facilitate leadership and development training’s of ASMSU Events Team.
- The Director of Events will meet 1:1 with ASMSU Vice President and/or Student Engagement and Leadership Advisor at least monthly and attend weekly admin meetings as requested.
- The Director of Events will assist with the interview process and hiring of the ASMSU Events Team Members.
- The Director of Events will assist OSE staff in presenting about OSE at Orientations, MSU Fridays, in classrooms, and at other events as needed.
- The Director of Events will help track hours for the rest of the team, ensuring they are working their full set of hours.

Maintain and grow campus traditions. This Director will take the lead on planning, executing, and assessing the entire homecoming program catalog. In addition, this director will work with the SEL Advisor, the ASMSU Events Team, and campus partners to develop new traditions that are impactful and relevant to MSU students.

Bring industry leading entertainment talent to MSU. This director will book musicians, artists, magicians, comedians, etc. in addition to negotiating contracts, venues, and hospitality arrangements for entertainers. This director also serves as liaison for talent agents and booking companies.

The ASMSU Productions Technicians are responsible for lighting and audio equipment setup, layout, and implementation of ASMSU Events like concerts, comedy shows, guest speakers, and more. This team will work together in a collaborative fashion to support safe and successful events.

- The Productions Technician will have a strong knowledge of audio and lighting equipment and audio/visual integration.

ASMSU Arts and Exhibits features contemporary art and ideas to educate and challenge MSU students and the community through exhibitions, films, lectures, and workshops in the visual arts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Arts Chair is responsible for a team that showcases visual arts by locally, regionally, and nationally known artists.
- Other duties include promoting Arts & Exhibits events, promoting ASMSU Films events, maintaining gallery space, coordinating installation, exhibition, reception, and de-installation of all art exhibits, and leading the biannual MSU Student Art Market with the Assistant.
- Must conduct a call for entry, create a selection committee, review applications, and select artists for exhibitions in The Exit Gallery and the Information Technology Center in the Renne Library. Also conduct two Calls for Entry (one per semester) for Art Market.
- Create the Films program schedule for the academic year.
- Promote the gallery space, prorastinator theatre and arts as a campus resource.
- Hire, manage, and supervise student employees. Meet regularly with Assdvisor and team to discuss programs, events, and any concerns.
- Manage a budget which includes routine presentations to the ASMSU Senate and Finance Board.

The Marketing team will ensure the Office of Student Engagement (OSE) has a cohesive marketing brand. ASMSU Student Government, Community Engagement, Student Organizations, and Campus Events and Programs will be equally represented through consistent and widespread marketing. The student voice and student-created content will be at the forefront of all messaging and public relations. This team model will enable program directors to focus on running their programs and will remove marketing from their daily tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Director of Communications will create a comprehensive and consistent marketing strategy to promote all ASMSU programs, activities, and events and ensure that MSU students know the benefits, services, and programs provided.
- The Director of Communications will strive to centralize ASMSU branding efforts to establish a general understanding of the organization's overall mission.
- The Director of Communications is responsible for:
- Recruit, hire, and manage the Communications Team personnel.
- Manage the creation and purchasing of ASMSU promotional items.
- Represent ASMSU at promotional events such as Orientation, MSU Friday's, Catapalooza, etc.
- Present and coordinate funding and budget requests with ASMSU Senate.

- The Director of Graphic Design is responsible for managing graphic requests and delegating assignments to Graphic Associate(s) as they are the point of contact for all requests.
- The Director of Graphic Design will evaluate, adjust, and advocate for the annual Communications budget at the ASMSU Senate meeting with the Director of Communications.

The Student Administrative Team at the Office of Student Engagement and ASMSU (Associated Students of Montana State University) plays a pivotal role in enhancing the student experience on campus. Mission:
ASMSU is the student government association serving as the elected voice of the students of Montana State University-Bozeman with the mission of enhancing the overall educational experience of students by providing leadership and employment opportunities for students and by providing diverse student oriented non-academic programs and services cost effectively through responsible fiscal management of student activity fees.
ASMSU Senate is the legislative body of the Associated Students of Montana State University (ASMSU). All legislative powers of ASMSU are vested in the Senate. All enrolled students, taking more than 7 credit hours, are welcome and qualified for a seat on the Senate. Voting membership consists of 21 voting Senators and the Senate President who can only vote to break ties.
ASMSU Senate allocates the student activity fees to ASMSU programs and initiatives through annual budgeting each spring semester. It’s your job to decide how the students want their money budgeted, the causes the student body supports, and the issues that are most important.
Description: The ASMSU Administrative Associate shall serve as an associate of the Executive Branch. This position will work on behalf of the executive branch, and work to promote the vision of the ASMSU President and Vice President. This position is expected to maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures while adhering to the ASMSU Constitution. The Administrative Associate reports directly to the ASMSU President and Vice President and supports all projects and initiatives set forth by the ASMSU Executive Branch.
General Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the ASMSU President and Vice President on advancing their platforms
- Provide advice and researched opinions when necessary to the ASMSU President and Vice President

The ASMSU Senate is the elected student government responsible for representing the voice and interests of the MSU-Bozeman student body. If you, as a member of the MSU student body, have an issue that you want the Senate to address, please contact the Senator representing your college or an At Large Senator. Senate may take action on such requests in the form of a resolution or a bill, which would be presented to the entire Senate to be voted upon. Senate leadership consists of a Senate President and Senate Vice President, who are elected by and from the Senate.
The ASMSU Senate allocates the student activity fees to ASMSU programs through annual budgeting each spring semester.

The Finance Board Shall: (i) Review and make recommendations regarding all budget requests to the Senate; (ii) Review and make recommendations regarding the annual budget to the Senate; and (iii) Recommend legislation regarding fiscal policy.
The Registered Student Organization Funding Board will be the primary decision-making body in allocating the student organization fee to registered student organizations.
Mission
The mission of the RSOFB is to allocate funds to registered student organizations to help them meet their goals and enrich the student experience.
Composition
The Funding Board shall be comprised of 6 members. 3 of whom shall be members of the Associated Students of Montana State University (ASMSU) Senate, 2 of whom shall be students-at-large. The RSOFB Chair will be the Senate Pro Tempore, and will not serve as a voting member unless a tie-breaker is necessary. If the Pro Tempore is absent, a temporary chair position will be designated to a current RSOFB member. The Office of Student Engagement will appoint a staff member to serve as advisor to this board. They will not have any voting rights. The RSO Funding Assistant will serve as liaison between the RSOFB and student organizations by communicating Funding Board decisions and feedback.
Board Appointments
All appointments will be made at the start of the fall semester, which will comprise that academic years’ board.
- ASMSU seats will be appointed by the ASMSU Senate.
- At-large seats will be filled by application, collected by the ASMSU President. All applications will be brought to ASMSU Senate for final vote and approval.
- If RSOFB seats become vacant, they will be filled by the same method for ASMSU seats and At-large seats.
Responsibilities of Funding Board
The Funding Board will allocate two-thirds of the estimated student organization fee at the end of the spring semester (VIM Funding Pool) for student organization activities/programs to take place over the following academic year. The remaining one-third of the estimated student organization funding (Rolling Funding Pool) will be allocated throughout the academic year. All Funding will be allocated based on availability of funds. For Rolling Funding: The Funding Board will review the funding applications from eligible registered student organizations and select the organizations that will receive funding using the criteria stated herein. Funding Board will meet weekly from mid-September through March (with the exception of University holidays, breaks and finals weeks). For Vim Funding: In April of each year, Funding board will award eligible registered student organizations funding based upon volunteer hours logged up to 234 hours per club. RSOFB will also be responsible for reviewing student organization funding policies, application process and any other funding-related issues or changes.
Training/Orientation
All RSOFB members will go through training and orientation, hosted by the Office of Student Engagement.
Voting
Three voting members will represent a quorum and must be present in order to make funding decisions. The RSOFB Chair will serve as a tie-breaker if necessary. Proxy voting by email for the purposes of meeting quorum or application approval between meetings is allowed. Those not in physical attendance have the right to participate by video conference, subject to any limitation established in rules adopted by the RSOFB.
Conflict of Interest
If a member of the RSOFB has a conflict of interest, they must reveal this to the board and are to abstain from voting. Conflict of interest is defined by if a voting member is a leader or member of an organization whose application is under review.
Budget & Allocations
The maximum allowable amount to be allocated to each organization per academic year shall be $1500.00 in Rolling Funding, and $3500.00 in VIM funding based on the prior year's volunteer hours. Allotment of funds will be first come, first serve based upon availability of funds and the level of requests submitted by the registered student organizations. While the RSOFB strives for consistency, a number of factors are considered when approving funding requests. Budget and available funds will fluctuate based on student enrollment.
