We're Coming to Your Town
Please join us for the upcoming Town Meetings:
Helena - November 29 - Mountain West Bank - 7 a.m. Great Falls - November 30 - US Bank - 7 a.m.
In an attempt to reach out and provide a way to meet more often with our alumni from across the state, we have developed a new program called "Town Meetings". Designed to allow our alumni the opportunity to meet with other College of Business graduates in the area, the Town Meetings have been a successful way for us to bring our story to different parts of the state.
Led by Rich Semenik, College of Business Dean, the meetings are usually at 7 a.m. and last about one-hour. The open format allows a conversation that provides a means to hear ideas, concerns, and for us to share our visions, goals, successes and needs. We often hear a new point of view that we can use to evaluate programs and find new ways of communicating and meeting more needs of our alumni.
The program has been successful in both getting input and having our alumni use the program to their benefit as well as the College's. We have had participants come into the classroom and talk to our students. We have seen alumni reconnect with classmates and the college. We have heard from alumni that they appreciate their ideas being heard and that we do indeed take the information back and use it to enhance the programs. By having the meetings first thing in the day, our alumni can join us and be off to work by 8 a.m. or so. Our retired alumni get a jump-start on their day and all receive a way to share ideas and gather input.
So far, we have done Town Meetings in Bozeman, Three Forks, Billings, Helena and Great Falls. We plan to visit the eastern part of Montana as well as the Flathead area and yes, we will even adventure to Grizzly-land and visit Missoula and the surrounding area! As we gather more information, we will share ideas and ways to better communicate, and we do plan more Town Meetings in areas we have already visited. In the future, we will also do Town Meetings in selected cities throughout the country, but members of the College of Business staff and faculty often travel with the Alumni Association for their planned events and have the opportunity to meet alumni at that time.
