2024 JEEM Memorial Scholarship
Application Guidelines
In order to make it easy to use computer word processing, there is no application form. Instead applicants must submit the following documents. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Part I. | A separate personal information data sheet. |
Part II. | Introductory questions to support the application. |
Part III. | A complete description of the intended project and how it supports the goals and objectives of the JEEM Scholarship. |
Part IV. | A brief, one-to-two-page professional resume. |
Part V. | Reference letters indicating availability and administrative approval for leave. |
Part I
On a separate paper, please provide the following information listed and numbered as follows:
- Name as on your Passport. Attach a copy of your passport.
- Level and subject(s) which you are presently teaching.
- E-mail address.
- Home address
- Home telephone number
- School Name
- School Address
- School telephone and FAX number
- Name, title, and telephone number of your administrator
Part II
In one page or less, answer the following questions.
- Why do you want to participate in this award project in Bozeman?
- What professional goals do you have that would be served by your involvement in this project?
- How many years of teaching do you have? What subjects? What age levels?
- What other educational experiences have enhanced your career in education such as: committee work, leadership, and professional activities?
- What level of education topics would you be most interested in studying: elementary, middle school, secondary school, university or other?
- What areas of school culture are you interested in: curriculum design, teaching methods and strategies, integration of technology? Other?
- Have you studied in the U.S.? If so where and what was your program?
- Have you traveled outside of your country? If so, where, when, and for what reason?
- Is there anything else you would like to share to support your application.
Part III
In 500 words or less (two pages) provide a detailed description of your project and how it meets the JEEM goals & objectives. How will you share your experiences from this project with students and other educators at home?
Part IV
Provide a brief, one-to-two-page professional resume (CV). Include your education, teaching experience, professional development, and extra-curricular activities.
Part V
The following letters are required. All documents must be in English or translated into English.
- A professional reference letter from a colleague or someone who knows you personally as a professional.
- A signed letter from your school administrator approving participation in the four-week JEEM Independent Study Program at Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana.
- Finalists will be required to provide a letter from the Department Administrator or Board of Education approving leave of absence for four to five weeks.
Application Deadline: Sunday, April 28, 2024
Application should be sent via email with Word or Pdf attachments. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Scholar will be selected about mid-May and notified by email of his/her selection. The scholar will be in Bozeman from about October 5 - November 2..

Health/Safety Recommendations
- The JEEM Scholar will take part in an independent study project as a student at Montana State University.
- This program will follow U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), MSU, and Bozeman/Gallatin County Health Department recommendations.
- The participant is advised to follow all departure and arrival protocols by the airline during their travel to and from Bozeman.
