Hello Montana 4-H Volunteers,

The Montana 4-H Center hopes, first and foremost, that you and your family are healthy during the Covid-19 pandemic. With the pandemic putting a halt to our normal everyday lives and routines we all have learned to adapt.

There are a variety of important reasons to stay connected with 4-H members during this time, including maintaining healthy relationships with caring adults and peers.

Utah 4-H has a very short video that describes the variety of ways to stay connected, one of them being virtual meetings.

Hosting a virtual meeting for the first time can be daunting and scary. The life skills that you teach in your clubs and projects are just as essential during this time of crisis as they were before. The Montana 4-H Center would like to help volunteers to continue with 4-H related meetings through a virtual setting.

We will offer two open question and answers sessions for volunteers to get any question they have about hosting a virtual meeting answered. Feel free to logon at any time during the scheduled meeting.

Things to do before:

• Think about what platform would be best to use, zoom or google (need to have a gmail account). There are lots of other options out there and if you are comfortable with one of those use it, but these are the two free options we will focus on.
• Watch some of the tutorials on the 4-H Connection page about creating an account and setting up a meeting.
• Review provided by University of Wyoming Extension/4-H describing a variety of helpful information on remote technology.
