March 2025

Swine Tags distributed to leaders   Swine tags will be distributed to club leaders in March. Tags are due to Ext. Office on 4/15/25.
JR Camp Applications Accepted Date TBD JR Camp applications will be accepted in March.  Details to come.
2025 Senior Camp registration open March 1, 2025 Registration for Senior Camp (June 9-13) will be open until May 12th.  Cost is $60. Spots are limited so sign up on ZSuite today! After you register there will be two forms to print and send to the Fergus Ext. office with a check payable to Fergus / Petroleum 4-H.  Forms checks can also be dropped at our office.
JR Camp Counselor Training March 5, 2025 Virtual camp counselor training will be from 7-8pm. A Webex link will be emailed to the counselors.
JB Co. Senior Bios Due March 7, 2025 Photos of graduating HS Seniors for the fair book should be emailed to judithbasin@montana.edu.
MT 4-H Shooting Sports State Competition March 7-8, 2025 MT 4-H Shooting Sports State competition registration details to come.
JBC Sewing Project Mtg March 8, 2025 Sewing project meeting will be at 10am at Rose Schindler's.  Bring your project book, project, supplies and your machine if you have one. Also, dont forget to bring a lunch!
JBC Demonstration Day Registration Closes March 10, 2025 Register for Demonstration/Illustrated Talk Day in ZSuite by March 10.  Presentations will be March 16 from 1-4pm at Stanford School. 
MT 4-H Rec Lab Reg. closes March 12, 2025 Registration will close in Zsuite on March 12, 2025.
JB Co 4-H Council Mtg March 12, 2025 The council will meet at 6pm at the Extension Office.
Fair Book Ads due to Ext. Office March 14, 2025 Fair Book ad renewals / new ads are due to the Ext. Office by March 14.
JBC Demonstration/Illustrated Talk Day March 16, 2025 1pm at Stanford School.  Registration is due by March 10th and can be found on ZSuite.
JBC Livestock Quality Assurance Training March 16, 2025  11:30am QA Training is REQUIRED for all 4-H members who are doing a market livestock project for the first time as well as members turning 14 as of 10/1. 
Youth Leadership Academy Monthly Workshop March 16, 2025 Monthly Youth Leadership Academy webinar is a 1 hour workshop open to all 4-H members who are 12+ by 10/1/2024. The final workshop topic is Collective Leadership.
Dog Project Clinic March 21, 2025 A 4-H dog clinic with Dani Horan will be held on 3/21 at 4pm at JBC Farms.  Bring your dog, choker chain, leash, showmanship leash and treats.  If the weather is questionable please contact Erlonna 366-3273.

MT 4-H Rec Lab - There's No Place Like 4-H March 28-30, 2025 2025 Rec Lab is being held in White Sulphur Springs March 28-30, 2025.  This is a great opportunity for members who are 13+ by 10/1/24 to attend a fun, hands on event.  Registration opens Feb 10 and closes March 12 through ZSuite.

Sheep / Goat tags distributed to leaders   Sheep and Goat tags will be distributed to your club leaders in April. Tags are due to Ext. Office by 5/18/25.

JBC Hunting Sports Project Mtg April 13, 2025 1:30pm The first meeting for Hunting Sports project members will be at the Stevenson's Sale barn on 4/13 at 1:30.
Swine Tags due April 15, 2025 Swine tag numbers, animal photo, breeder information and weights are due to the Ext. Office by April 15 for animals that you intend to show and sale at the JB Co. Fair. You must be enrolled in a market project to receive a tag.  Check your enrollment on zsuite to verify you are enrolled in a level AND market project.
Easter Egg Hunt April 17 10:30am The annual Community Easter Egg hunt sponsored by the Scramblers is April 17 10:30am at Stanford School.  All young kids are invited!
4-H Bake Sale April 19, 2025 The Scramblers Easter Bake Sale at D's Supermarket will be April 19 from 9 til 12:00 ish. This is a great way to get your Easter baking done without the hassle!

MT 4-H Congress Registration May 1, 2025 Registration will begin for MT 4-H Pre Congress and Congress on May 1 and close June 15, 2025. Registration will be through your ZSuite account under the Events tab.
JR Camp Reg. Closes May 9, 2025 Registration for JR Camp closes May 9, 2025. Register on your ZSuite account.
Sheep / Goat Weigh In and Tag info due May 18, 2025 Sheep / Goat tags, photo of animal, breed information and weights are due to the Ext. Office. You must be enrolled in a market project to receive a tag.  Check your enrollment on zsuite to verify you are enrolled in a level AND market project.

June 2025

Jan French Scholarship Closes June 1, 2025

Applications for the Jan French Memorial Scholarship will be accepted until June 1, 2025.  The application consists of a 1-2 pg essay detailing how 4-H has impacted you, how 4-H has prepared you forlife after high school and what your plans are afer graduating.  Winners will be announced at fair.

Colt R Memorial 4-H Project Scholarship Due June 1, 2025

Applications are due June 1, 2025 to the Fergus Ext Office.  This is a project scholarship that can be used towards anything related to your 4-H project. 

Qualifications:

  • Must be a 4th year 4-H member or older
  • Enrolled in a small or large animal project
  • Must be able to write without parental instruction
4-H Horse Forms Due June 1, 2025 All required Horse Project forms must be received by the Extension Office no later than June 1.
Junior Camp June 3-6, 2025 JR Camp will be June 3-6, 2025 at Camp Rotary near Monarch. Registration on ZSuite is open April 7 - May 9, 2025.  Counselors will report to camp on June 2. 
Senior Camp June 9 - 13, 2025 Paradise Valley - Mountain Sky Guest Ranch. Senior Camp will include a ropes course, outdoor games, fishing, Yellowstone NP, swimming, constellations, cooking and much more! Registration is open from March 1 - May 30th.
Project Drop/Add Deadline June 1, 2025 The deadline for project drop / add in ZSuite is June 1.  This is a hard date.  You must complete a record book for ALL the projects you are enrolled in after June 1, 2025.  No changes will be allowed in ZSuite after June 1.
MT 4-H Pre Congress and Congress Reg closes June 15, 2025 Registration for MT 4-H Pre Congress and Congress closes June 15.  Registration link is on your ZSuite account under Events.
JB Co. Fair Entry closes June 23, 2025 Fair entry closes for the JB Co. Fair on June 23, 2025. Late entries will be accepted through June 30th with a $25 late fee/per person.  Late entries must be completed at the Ext. Office.

MT 4-H Pre Congress July 6-8, 2025 MT 4-H Pre Congress is held prior to Congress in Bozeman. Pre-Congress is open to all 4-H members who are 14+ by 10/1/24.
MT 4-H Congress July 8-11, 2025 MT 4-H Congress in Bozeman.  4-H Congress is open to all 4-H members who are 14+ by 10/1/24.
JB Co. Fair Week July 28 - Aug 1, 2025 2025 JB Co. Fair Begins July 28, 2025. There are significant changes to the fair schedule for 2025.  Visit the fair page for the fair schedule and other important dates.

August 2025

JB Co. Fair LIVESTOCK SALE Friday August 1, 2025 The Livestock Sale is being held on Friday rather than Saturday this year.  Sale begins at 6pm with a buyers dinner and social hour at 5.

Tween Camp August 7-10, 2025 Tween camper will be headed to West Glacier, MT.  This year camp will include Glacier NP, hiking, cherry picking, a trip to Kalispell, swimming, crafts, games and much more!
Livestock Sale Checks distributed Date TBD Livestock Sale Checks will be released in late August.  

September 2025

Record Books Due to Club Leaders September 1, 2025 Record Books must be received by your Club Leaders no later than September 1, 2025.  This is a hard date and a record book must be turned in for all the projects you are enrolled in.  (The project drop/add deadline is June 1 in ZSuite)
Record Book Judging Date TBD Record Books received by club leaders on or before Sept. 1, 2025 will be reviewed and judged for record book awards. 
MT 4-H Working Ranch Horse Competition Sept 12 - 14, 2025 The MT 4-H Working Ranch Horse Competition will be held at the 406 Arena in Vaughn.
MT 4-H Horse Show Sept 26-28, 2025 The MT 4-H Horse Show will be at the 406 Arena in Vaughn.
