1. Animals no more than 12 months of age at weigh-in.  

2. All animals must be tagged and weighed on January 1, 2023, at the L&C Fairgrounds  

3. Final weigh-in must be done at L&C Fairgrounds on the Tuesday of fair week.  

4. If a member tags two animals, only one is eligible for the rate of gain competition.  

5. If a 4-H member tags two steers, the steer eligible for the rate of gain award must be declared on final weigh-in, the week of the fair.  

6. Record books must be up to date prior to weigh-in for fair week.  

7. QA requirements must be fulfilled to be eligible for competition.  

8. Must be an active member in an enrolled 4-H club with the L&C County Extension Office.  

9. Brand inspections must be in possession at final weigh-in.  

10. All steers must be weighed at the beginning and end on the same scale in the pig barn portion of the BHB.  

11. There will be a buckle awarded to the top gainer and the runner up.
