Project Description

Scrapbooking is an excellent way to capture and preserve all your favorite 4-H activities. This introductory project is designed for youth of all ages with limited experience in scrapbooking. Youth are required to complete the activities outlined in the project book.

To be successful in the 4-H Scrapbooking project participants will need to attend workshops and complete their record book. The final workshop will go over recording this project in the 4-H'ers record book.

Supplies needed to be successful in this project are:

  • Pictures – lots and lots of pictures.
  • Scrapbook – this can be a handmade book or it can be a premade book.
  • Additional scrapbook pages that fit your specific scrapbook – these will need to be lignan and acid free pages. Most premade books come this way.
  • Photo sticker squares or running scrapbook tape.
  • Embellishments to create memorable pages for your book.

Other items like unique cutting scissors, pens, markers, etc. will be provided by the project superintendent.

And above all you will need to purchase the project book Scrapbooking – A 4-H Guide to Preserving Memories.

*** Please note, if you do not attend at least one workshop in your project area during the 4-H year, you will be required to complete activities in your project book and turn it in with your record book. The number of activities required to complete a 4-H year in each project book can be found here.

Project age limit? 8 and up

Scrapbooking is a level one project that can be completed over three years. Each year will introduce you to more scrapbooking techniques that include but are not limited to using more advanced equipment like Cricut/Silhouette type crafting machines, multi-layered designs, collage wall hangings and more.
