It’s nice to learn from other universities and bring it home to MT and incorporate it in our programs. Highly recommend going to Texas for the next one. Jackie – brought ideas back from every workshop she attended. It is exciting to go as a new agent. LQA doesn’t happen in every state, so we are doing a good job in our program. Wendy and Shelly had breakfast with former agent Ann Ronning.

2023 Chad Reid Western District AMPIC Report- Shelley Mills, Patrick Mangan, and Kimberly Richardson attended.  Kimberly drove to St. George – it was a fantastic program, great hospitality. They visited a peach orchard, had fresh peaches, Next Western District AMPIC is in Sandpoint, Idaho.

2025 NACAA AMPIC Planning Update- Shelley Mills. She learned a ton in Iowa. They had a workshop on how to host an AMPIC.  Patrick will be driving to Texas July 14-18, 2024, to pick up all the flags to MT for when we host. Urged committee chairs to come and shadow Texas chairs to see what we need to do here. MACAA did a survey in Iowa about our MT AMPIC. They had 351/1000 responses and 90-95% said they were coming to MT. Planning for 1000-1400 people to come to MT. Dave Phillips - life members team needs 2-3 members to help him with that committee. Teo Sinks agreed to help him. There will be a retiree gathering lunch in Great Falls on November 15th at the Cascade County Extension Office. Sponsorship Brochures for NACAA were handed out and will be handing them out within the next year and going to raise funds. We have $42,000 so far and we have a long way to go. Please help and ask if you know of any entities willing to help, we have a script and a form to help you out. We expect each of our committees to have met at least once by the end of the year. We will be hosting monthly committee chair meetings starting in January 2024. The national board will be hosting the winter board meeting in December in Billings, so they know what’s going on. Everything needs to be ready to go by December 2024 so it can be in the spring issue of the County Agent. Registration will start June 27th, 2025. If you are planning to go to the Texas AMPIC, RDHs will pay for registration, and we have some Western SARE grant funds. Admins have been very supportive. Expected to have a hospitality room in Texas promoting the MT NACAA AMPIC to those in Texas.

Presentation Scott Jensen- NACAA Board

Scott will be the NACAA President when we host in Billings. He is very excited, and it will be well attended. Will be a great opportunity. He has been in Extension in Idaho for 23 years and he hasn’t missed a meeting in a long time. Gave a report about a man named Charles who has been going to the NACAA AMPICs since 1968 and hasn’t missed a meeting. There is always something that he learns at those meetings that he can bring back and use in his program. You get out of membership in MACAA and NACAA what you put into it. Utilize those opportunities that Linden described. Make sure to read the rubrics when you are submitting your posters. Lots of opportunities to learn and be recognized.
