EPA has proposed new pesticide certification and training requirements for licensed pesticide applicators. Details of the proposed requirements can be viewed [link expired, see the Private Applicator Training Program for up-to-date information]. The original comment period deadline of November 23rd, 2015 has been extended to December 23rd, 2015. This will allow interested individuals more time to organize comments.

Comments can be submitted via regulations.gov under docket number EPA-HQ-OPP-2011-0183 [comment period has expired].

After the comment period, EPA will review and consider the public comments, and where needed, change the proposed requirements. EPA will draft the final regulation which will be reviewed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Office of Management and Budget. When these reviews are complete, the EPA will issue the final regulation.
