International Buddy Program
Fostering relationships between inbound exchange students and domestic MSU students
The International Buddy Program aims to pair incoming international exchange students with US students at MSU at the beginning of each semester. The program was started by MSU study abroad alumni after they experienced a similar program while studying abroad.
MSU students will be matched with one or two international students based on regional interests and majors. MSU Buddies are asked to help their international buddy get settled into their residence hall, help them prepare for classes (getting books, finding classrooms, etc.), and help incoming students get to know all the great things Bozeman has to offer. For example, in the past Buddies have organized trips to Yellowstone National Park, Skiing, Football games, and Thanksgiving Dinners.
In addition, the Office of International Programs aims to host one buddy-wide event each month during the semester. Past events have included Trivia Night, Scavenger Hunts, and an Amazing Race.
If you have travelled abroad and are missing the exposure to a foreign culture, would like to connect with someone from another country, or have an interest in international relations, this is the club for you!
