Spring 2024 Speaker Series
Promoting Wellness in Underserved Communities
Held every other Wednesday Spring Semester 2024
Wilson Hall 1-138 - 1:10 p.m. - 2 p.m.
The College of Letters and Science Speaker Series Promoting Wellness in Underserved Communities features CLS faculty from across the College whose research, teaching, and outreach
speaks to the theme promoting wellness in underserved communities. The seminar series,
which introduces the Cohort Faculty hired through the CLS Cohort Hiring Initiative, will occur every other Wednesday throughout the Spring 2024 semester. We will conclude
with a collision event, inviting opportunity for those whose work promotes the wellness
of underserved communities (through teaching, research, outreach, and/or integration)
to foster connection and possible collaboration.
MSU’s Strategic Plan lists as one of its grand challenges “promoting wellness in our communities by addressing
access and equity in education and health outcomes, community-based participatory
research, biomedical sciences, and entrepreneurship.” This seminar and the featured
scholars demonstrate ways that faculty in the College of Letters and Science contribute
to this goal. Please join us as we engage in this semester-long interdisciplinary
conversation. The schedule is below.
