About

Carla Little joined MMEC in August 2021. She leads communications and marketing activities for the Center’s programs, services, and events, as well as supporting other activities related to proposal development and grant compliance. Prior to MMEC, Carla served as a Communications Specialist and Proposal Coordinator for nearly 20 years at the Western Transportation Institute, a research center also on the Montana State University campus. She specializes in communicating technical and complex subjects to audiences that include industry professionals, researchers, students, and government leaders.

Before she came to MSU, Carla’s early career focused on government relations, legislative analysis, and speech writing for state and local government officials and agencies. As a freelance writer, her work has been published in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, Montana Parent, and other regional publications.  She holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of California, Davis, and a Master’s of Higher Education from MSU.
