Course Title: NRSG 508 Clinical Leadership Practicum

Credits: 7 (clinical lab)

Course Description:

In collaboration with the faculty and clinical preceptor the clinical immersion practicum will provide a platform to support transformative learning within a selected health care setting. The course is designed to promote integration of coursework through immersion in the CNL role.

 

Course Objectives:

  1. Collaborate with and lead an interprofessional team to design and implement a capstone activity to improve or influence nursing practice, patient safety, quality, or other healthcare outcomes.
  2. Develop, implement, and evaluate a clinical immersion plan based on the CNL
  3. Conduct an interprofessional team meeting.
  4. Analyze aggregate data to prepare reports and justify needs for
  5. Demonstrate the ability to coach, delegate, and supervise the performance of procedures and processes with a focus on safety and
  6. Participate in development of or change in policy within a health care

 

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completing this course the student will be able to:

  1. Create a plan that fosters a culture of safety in healthcare.
  2. Self-evaluate weekly CNL competency completion.
