Montana State University Parking and Transportation Services is searching for enthusiastic student or volunteer candidates for the position of shuttle bus driver. If you are looking for a fun and exciting place to work, please take a look at the qualifications below.

Responsibilities for a Cat Tracks shuttle bus driver

  • Cat Tracks drivers will operate a 15 passenger ADA compliant shuttle bus on and around campus on designated routes and during special events at Montana State University.
  • Adhere to all highway traffic safety standards in all weather conditions when operating a Cat Tracks Shuttle.
  • Customer Service - Cat Tracks drivers must have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Cat Tracks drivers must arrive to work on time and drive their assigned shuttle following a set schedule or route.
  • Ensure all daily pre and post trip checks of the shuttle are completed.
  • Always maintains radio contact with dispatch using the proper radio protocol.
  • Maintain a clean shuttle bus free from debris and clutter.
  • Assist with light office duties such as data entry, filing paperwork, and making copies when needed.
  • Assist with light maintenance of vehicles, refueling vehicles, and performance of vehicle safety inspections.
  • Properly operate on-shuttle video systems and other onboard electronic components necessary for safe and effective shuttle operation.
  • Reports all accidents, incidents, or unusual occurrences to the Director of Parking and Transportation Services immediately.

Qualifications

  • Be a current student at Montana State University or be eligible to work as a community volunteer.
  • Possess a valid Class D (standard non-commercial) driver’s license and be eligible for state vehicle use. Vehicle Use - MSU Policies and Procedures | Montana State University
  • Successfully complete on-site training and a practical skills assessment prior to being assigned hours on a route.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position requiring Cat Tracks drivers to safely assist loading, unloading and securing of disabled passengers in a professional manner.
  • Able to work between the hours of 7 am – 6 pm, 10 – 20 hours weekly
