Corlann Bush

Corlann Bush worked as Montana State University’s director of human resources/affirmative action office from 1985 to August 2005.  During this time, she developed and monitored an affirmative action plan to improve the hiring and retention of women and minority faculty and senior administrators, implemented the consent decree the university signed to settle a sex discrimination law suit and promoted equality and diversity for women and Native Americans across the institution. As part of this work, she developed and implemented the faculty salary review to ensure that equitable and comparable salaries and wages were paid to new women and minority hires. She investigated and issued findings in numerous complaints of discrimination and harassment. Bush trained many individuals on university policy, harassment prevention and promotion and tenure policies. Her milestone contributions included the 2004 Indian Education for All Conference and the lighting project to make MSU safer to walk at night. A member of the American Association of University Women, she held many local and state positions including Bozeman branch and state president. She currently chairs the board of directors of the Montana Women Lobby and consults with citizens, employers and organizations on human resource management issues and policies.   

Corlann Bush’s passion for improving the work lives of women is deep and steadfast and continues through her work that has spanned a lifetime.
