Wiley Award for Meritorious Research and Creativity in Professions. The award recognizes research achievement focused on the development of professionals and includes a $2,000 honorarium.
Sung has served as the coordinator for the business college’s marketing option since 2023. Her extensive research portfolio includes explorations into the psychology of marketing and incorporation of technology into marketing practices. One publication on blockchain-certified non-fungible tokens—commonly called NFTs—and consumer behavior earned Sung the Most Downloaded Paper award from the journal Psychology and Marketing.
“Dr. Sung’s work exemplifies the essence of the Wiley Award, contributing substantively to the business field with both quantitative rigor and qualitative societal impact,” wrote Maritza Espina, associate dean for faculty and research in college of business, in a letter supporting Sung’s nomination. “Her scholarly dedication has established her as a leader in the digital marketing and artificial intelligence fields, making her a truly deserving candidate for this prestigious award.”
Sung’s peers have recognized her research as uniquely applicable and noteworthy in its timeliness with the shifting landscape of technology and the advent of artificial intelligence.
“Since 2020—and in response to societal needs involving the COVID pandemic and later the proliferation of generative artificial intelligence —Dr. Sung has quickly built a robust research agenda to address the fourth industrial revolution of digital technology,” wrote business dean Brian Gillespie in a nomination letter. “The quickly evolving landscape of this cutting-edge technology domain necessitates both speed and precision, two traits Dr. Sung has clearly demonstrated through her publication record.”
