Program Concept – The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!

Attaining institutional goals while ensuring continuity of operations, preserving sense of place. all within budget is a daunting task.   Because MSU is in an unprecedented construction cycle the RMA 2025 program is being developed to seize this unique opportunity to view progress, impacts, challenges, and successes of a myriad of projects, programs, and processes in various stages of development or implementation.

General Program Organization

The program is organized into three tracks – Energy, Projects, Supporting Efforts – and we are pursuing CEU’s for all sessions.

Morning sessions are at the conference hotels, the Kimpton Armory and the AC.  These sessions will provide a general overview of the philosophy, goals, programs, projects, and elements of each track.

Afternoon sessions are on the MSU campus and will offer a closer look at some of the specific elements embedded within our campus through tours and classroom sessions.

Track Overview

Energy – MSU uses energy districting, solar and geo-well technologies, control systems, metering, and a tunnel distribution infrastructure to gain efficiencies in both energy use and maintenance.  Sessions in this track will address underlaying energy philosophy and the processes, programs, and equipment applied to continuously improve.

Projects – Identifying and addressing mechanical, operational, and institutional goals while not precluding future opportunities is critical to the success of any project. Sessions in this track will feature site tours and discussions about project philosophy, intent, processes and specifics.  To see some of our current projects visit  Current MSU Construction Projects - RMA 2025 | Montana State University

Supporting Efforts – Everything Speaks!  There are many underappreciated or unrecognized elements imbedded into operations that affect the campus aesthetic, resource use, participation, and institutional culture. Sessions in this track will highlight programs and processes meant to bring attention to these efforts by demonstrating stewardship and encouraging participation and awareness.

You won’t miss a minute of the conference proper!
