Description of Request

Submitted By: Laura Larsson

The Larsson Lab currently operates within an open and shared lab space in CFT5 room 230 with 5 FTE operating out of the suite, which presents challenges in achieving the quiet space necessary for focused tasks such as writing, reporting, and analysis. To address this, consideration is being given to utilizing office space on the third floor of CFT5 to complement the lab functions. The space is currently vacant, and no other requests have been submitted for consideration. The third-floor office would adopt the "hot desk" concept, allowing team members to utilize the desk on a check-out basis. This ensures equitable access without any single member dominating the space. Additionally, the office could serve as a storage area for sensitive equipment and surplus supplies, aiding in the efficient organization and management of resources, particularly during the preparation and assembly of supplies for summer and fall clinics.

Furthermore, access to both the 3rd floor office and the second-floor suite will continue to foster collaboration with interdisciplinary partners, including Smiles Across Montana, Thinking Cap, and Tel Todd Optometry. The team is also engaged in multiple grants supporting the One Community in Health project, sponsored by entities such as the Montana Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, Otto Bremer Trust, AstraZeneca, and the Dennis & Phyllis Washington Foundation. This allocation aligns with the team's needs for quiet workspaces, storage capacity, and collaborative opportunities with partners.
