Lytta cyanipennis
This is a green blister beetle. When disturbed, the adult releases oily droplets of hemolymph from its body to repel potential predators. The droplets contain cantharidin, a burn agent that males give to females during mating. Females then cover their eggs with substance as a layer of protection. Green blister beetles range in length from 8 to 20 mm.
