Mallophora sp.
Species from the Mallophora genus are also called bee killers. This robber fly has distinctive green eyes. It feeds on large bees and wasps while mimicking the appearance of a bee. Members of this genus can typically be found in open areas such as meadows. The larvae of some species are ectoparasites of scarab beetles.
