Lucilia sp.

Species in the genus Lucilia are also known as green bottle flies. These blow flies are in the family Calliphoridae. Members of the 1,200 known species in the family Calliphoridae typically have a blue, green, or black metallic coloring. These flies are frequently preyed upon by spiders, beetles, frogs, and birds.
