Rhagio sp.
This is a snipe fly. Flies in this family typically have slender bodies and legs. Both the adult and larva are predators of other, smaller insects. Adults can be found in woody areas on foliage and grass. Larvae can be found in moss, decaying wood, and moist soil. Adults in the Rhagionidae family sometimes exhibit a resting position with their head pointing downward. This behavior has earned them the occasional nickname of "downlooker flies".
