halictid sp. 2

This is a sweat bee in the family Halictidae. Bees in this family have diverse life histories. They range from solitary to semisocial and nests are usually burrows in soil or rotting wood. They mass-provision their young, meaning that all of the resources needed for the larva to reach adulthood are provided when the egg is laid in its cell.
