Synanthedon culiciformis
Synanthedon culiciformis is also called the large red-belted clearwing moth. The forewing is 23- to 27-mm long and the body and wing edges are metallic dark blue. The caterpillars feed on deciduous trees, preferably birch. This species can be found primarily from May to July.
