This one-hour workshop will focus on using Gradescope in online and hybrid classes with handwritten exams and quizzes and fully online assignments. We'll show you how to set up an assignment, grade consistently with a rubric, provide students with rich targeted feedback, and easily return work electronically.

This is an opportunity to learn more and ask questions about instructional innovation grants, including the application process and the types of proposals that are more likely to get funded. If you have an initial idea for a proposal, we can offer feedback on that to make it more competitive to the selection committee.  Proposals are due Friday, March 24th at 5:00pm

Advancing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging through Cultural Humility

Cultural humility is defined as an ongoing process of self-reflection and self-critique of our experiences, assumptions, and biases instead of claiming to be experts of another culture when working with students from minoritized backgrounds. This workshop explains how cultural humility is different from cultural competence. Together, we will explore practical ways for cultivating cultural humility.

Trauma-Informed Pedagogies: A Guide for Responding to Crisis and Inequality - Book Discussion Group

Participants will apply principles of trauma-informed pedagogies and identify practices that respond to the impact of trauma on learners and themselves. Those attending will need to have read one chapter of the book (Trauma-Informed Pedagogies: A Guide for Responding to Crisis and Inequality in Higher Education) prior to the discussion.

Bobcat Culture of Mentoring Symposium

The Bobcat Culture of Mentoring Symposium will kick off with a Keynote by Alumna Denise Juneau on the powerful impact of mentoring. Next, a Bobcat panel will discuss how a culture of mentoring impacts their journey. Finally, the symposium will end with roundtable discussions imaging what a culture of mentoring means for MSU and providing advice on our path towards bolstering that culture.
