MSU’s Center for Faculty Excellence supports the professional development of all faculty (tenure-track and non-tenure track) across all career stages in the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, outreach/service and leadership. Guided by faculty interests and goals, and the values of innovation, collaboration, and partnerships, the Center is a place where faculty members connect to share knowledge and skills that support each other’s growth in an inclusive environment where diversity and individual difference are understood, respected, appreciated and recognized as a source of strength.

The Center offers workshops, seminars, discussion groups, mentoring opportunities, and grants to support professional development. We also facilitate relationships and connections among faculty and connect them to services, offices, and student organizations on campus. The Center organizes Faculty Learning Communities on multiple topics, offers grant opportunities (Instructional Innovation and Scholarly Grants), and recognizes faculty achievements through the Instructional Innovation, President’s Excellence in Teaching, Advising, and Service-Learning Awards.
