Finding your advisor
To find your academic advisor, log into MyInfo and access Degreeworks. Each student is assigned a professional academic advisor within their college for the first year or two and then are typically transitioned to a faculty advisor. If an advisor is not specified in Degreeworks, please contact your academic department or reach out to the Advising Team Lead for assistance.
Your academic advisor will assist with course related questions, meet with you during Priority Registration and assist with processes such as changing your major or dropping a class with advisor approval. If drop in hours for a specific advisor are not listed, see if they are listed under the department header. If there are none listed, contact your advisor via email with quick questions or schedule an appointment. It is recommended for more advanced advising conversations that you make an appointment with your advisor.

The Pre-Law Advisor serves all current students and graduates of Montana State University by helping students investigate and evaluate their interest in law school and provide one-on-one advising to students in the law school application process.

To learn about health professions, application processes, and support offered at MSU, students should connect with a Health Professions Advisor.
Pre-Vet Advising
Pre-vet advising supports students in any major who want to apply to professional veterinary or veterinary technician programs. The Pre-Vet Intake curriculum, which is not a degree, is an initial declaration students make while they fulfill common pre-veterinary requirements and decide on the best undergraduate major for their goals.

Health Professions Advising
Health Professions Advising (HPA) staff and advisors provide pre-professional advising for students of any major that are pursuing a health profession after their degree. This advising includes pre-requisite coursework for graduate programs, how to prepare a competitive application, activities to prepare for professional school applications, and help with applying.
