Dear Students,

I hope this email finds you healthy and settling into your spring classes.

With many of our classes being held face-to-face this semester, it’s important

to remember the precautions that are in place on campus to guard against COVID-19:

  • Face masks are required at MSU, especially inside our buildings, including

classrooms, dining halls and residence hall common areas. This is a student

conduct code matter, and my office follows up on every report of non-compliance

with the requirement. In general, if you’re on campus, we want to see you

wearing a mask.

  • Social distancing. Our classrooms are all socially distanced to minimize the spread

of germs, as are our dining halls and other buildings. Keep away from others and

avoid large gatherings on and off campus.

  • Wash your hands often. Use soap and water when you can. Use hand sanitizer

when you can’t.

  • Clean 'Cat Kits. Pick up your spring Clean 'Cat Kit and use it to help make extra

certain the surfaces you touch every day are sanitized.

Free testing for COVID-19 is available on campus at the Student Testing Center near the

stadium. Residence hall students can get a test without showing symptoms until Jan. 22

use this quick online form to book an appointment. But any student who has symptoms

of the virus can get a test without an appointment. All the details are online on our COVID-19 website.

The small things we do, like wearing the mask and washing your hands, can have big effects

in reducing the spread of the virus on our campus and in the Bozeman community.

Please do your part.

Regards,

Matt Caires, dean of students
