Education, Health and Human Development Annual Impact Report 2022-2023
Greetings from Montana State University!
This 2022-2023 annual impact report shares stories that align with the foci of Montana State University’s Strategic Plan, Choosing Promise. We invite you to join us in celebrating the accomplishments our college has made in transforming learning, engaging in research, creative activity and scholarship that improves lives, and expanding our engagement across the state and beyond its borders.
We believe our students learn by doing to transform lives and communities. This is evidenced by thousands of hours of volunteer efforts in schools, after school programs, counseling sessions, dietetic internships, and more. At the Human Development Clinic, Department of Counseling faculty and graduate students provided over 3,500 hours of low-cost mental health services per year to adults and children of the Gallatin Valley. Finally, as part of the Rural Teacher Pathways program, 119 pre-service teachers volunteered 3,166 hours in 30 rural schools across the state.
Our college celebrated innovation over the past year with several new initiatives and firsts. At the start of the semester, our college hosted its first graduate student garage sale, a donation-based event that offered free clothing and home goods to incoming and returning graduate students. In Spring 2023, we celebrated the first person to complete the College of EHHD Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate, a professional development program aimed at helping faculty, staff, and graduate students integrate diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices into their work. And finally, the Center for Bilingual and Multicultural Education invited MSU community members to share stories of their multilingual and multicultural journeys as part of its inaugural Language and Story Exchange series.
We appreciate your support over this past year, and hope you enjoy this annual impact report. Your feedback is always welcome and may be submitted to [email protected].
