Thank you for taking the time to write a letter of recommendation in support of an MSU student. Recommendation letters for major scholarships are weighted heavily in the evaluation process, and we appreciate your willingness to write a great letter for the student.

As you craft your letter, please be sure to include all the information requested of the granting agency. Address your letter to the review committee of the specific scholarship you are writing the letter for; for instance, a letter in support of a Truman Scholarship application should read "To the Truman Scholarship review committee." For information on specific scholarships, including deadlines, please refer to our List of Major Scholarships page.

Please submit your signed letter on letterhead to  [email protected] using the following naming convention: ApplicantName_Reference_YourName.docx 

You may assume the student has waived his or her right to see your letter, and that its content is confidential, but you can confirm this status by contacting our office.
