Hilary

Hilary Becker, MS:

After serving as a full-time instructor for the Department of Health and Human Development at MSU since Fall 2015, I transitioned to become the Director of HPA in December of 2020.

I recevied my BS degree in Human Physiology and MS degree in Human Physiology with an emphasis in skeletal muscle physiology from the University of Oregon. During my time in Eugene, OR I had great opportunities to learn about healthcare careers while working along side Athletic Trainers, Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical Therapists, Clinical Nutrionists, Nurses, Physician Assistants, and Radiology Technicians. After graduating, I moved to Long Beach, CA where I was an instructor for American University of Health Sciences (a small nursing and pharmacy school), California State University-Long Beach (Kinesiology and Physical Therapy Departments), and Long Beach City College teaching courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, and Tissue Injury. I also volunteered as a PT aide for a small Physical Therapy clinic in Huntington Beach, CA.

Throughout my past experiences I have advised and mentored hundreds of students pursuing careers in various heathcare fields. I truly enjoy getting to know everyone and their unique experiences and I strive to create a welcoming space which empowers students.

I'm orginally from Vermont and feel right at home in Montana. When I'm not working, you can find me out on the trails around Bozeman and the Paradise Valley. I trail run, hike, mountain bike, backcountry ski, and nordic ski. I also enjoy reading and baking.
