Robustness in Challenging Environments

Studies suggest that the topology of genetic networks underlies robustness in phenotypes to  environmental variation. Specifically, theoretical studies indicate that genetic networks with certain features such as feed-forward loops or redundancy are less susceptible to perturbations. Empirical data that test these theoretical predictions are needed.
