Engagement Events are an important part of MSU Debut. This series of events equips you for a successful transition to Montana State University, empowers you to contribute to the Bobcat community, and fosters inclusion, integrity, and belonging.

Sunday, August 18 : Food Truck Rodeo 

  • Romney Oval, 5PM-8PM
    • Join us for a night of amazing local food trucks, games and activities, and live music. Students and thier families are welcome to join. Students eat free and cash sales are available.

Tuesday, August 20: M Photo - Convocation - First Meal

  • Bobcat Stadium, M Photo
    •  All new students are invited to join and be part of the iconic tradition! Be remembered as part of your class as you assemble into M formation for our yearly photograph.
  • Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, Convocation
  • Romney Oval, First Meal
    • We are rolling out the welcome carpet at the end of a packed day. Be served amazing food by staff and faculty and enjoy a summer night with your new MSU community.

Wednesday, August 21: First Day Welcome Tents, Presidents Ice Cream Social

  • First Day Welcome Tents
    • Our academic faculty leaders will be happy to meet with new students at several centrally located resource hubs on campus.
  • Presidents Ice Cream Social
    • Ice cream on the President. Stop by Malone Centennail Mall for a quick treat between classes.

Friday, August 23: Catapalooza, MSU Debut Concert

  • Catapalooza, 10AM-3PM
    • Hundreds of Student Organizations, Campus Offices, and Community Businesses take over central campus for a one-of-a-kind experience. Find your community and make MSU your home.
  • MSU Debut Concert, 7PM-9PM
    • MSU is happy to host a nationally touring band specifically for students. Band annoucement coming soon!

Saturday, August 24: MSU Debut Service Saturday

  • Various Service Projects Across Bozeman, All Day
    • Be part of a passionate and impactful service community at MSU. The Office of Student Engagement will coordinate several diverse projects for you to choose from. 

Sunday, August 25: Rock'n the M

  • Bridger Foothills Trail Head, 9AM-1PM
    • The college M visible from campus and over 100 years old has been maintatined by MSU students throughout its life. Give the M a fresh paint job for the start of a new year!

Thursday, August 29: Student Resource Fair

  • Malone Centennial Mall, 10AM-1PM
    • Student centered offices representing community safety, wellness, financial assistance, and academic services set up in central campus to be a one-stop-shop resource for students.
