Meet the Surge staff
Judi Haskins has been the director of the Sophomore Surge since 2017, yet has been in a variety of other positions at MSU since 2004. She holds a B.S. in Psychology with an minor in Creative Writing, and an M.S. in Counseling and Human Services, both from the University of Idaho.
Originally from Plains, MT, Judi is married and has three young daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys family time and her kids' many activities as well as camping, boating, hiking, and gardening. Judi is also is a recent breast cancer survivor and works to raise awareness of breast cancer detection and support.
Colleen May is a Program Assistant and current Surge Mentor, where in addition to her mentor duties, she assists with administrative functions of the program. She is from Hamilton, MT, and is majoring in History- Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS). She started mentoring with Sophomore Surge in 2019, and fully intends to continue to help freshmen with their transition to MSU.
Colleen enjoys spending her time reading, baking, knitting (when it’s cold), and camping and floating on the river during the Summer.
