In 2021, the Writing Center received a generous endowment given by Ann Jackson and Ken Wilson to continue advancing Writing Across MSU by integrating writing throughout the curriculum, particularly in STEM. The funding they have provided will allow us to continue developing programs to support students and faculty in the teaching and learning of writing. We are so grateful for this gift.

With this generous funding, we created an advanced faculty learning community of recipients from past Integrating Writing into STEM Grants: the Writing in Engineering Faculty Fellows. This group of faculty met monthly to talk about writing across Engineering, to learn about teaching writing in engineering through readings and conversations, and to work with the Writing Center to foster and develop writing support for engineering students. The Fellows formed a learning community focused on the teaching and mentoring of writing in STEM across MSU. For the dedicated time and effort, the fellows received a $5000 stipend.

The goal was to learn together and collaborate on both research and resources. We are grateful for all the work the Writing in Engineering Faculty Fellows accomplished.
