Not sure where to start? Learn how to request accommodations.
Prospective Students
For Incoming transfer and freshmen students that will be attending in the upcoming Fall semester, you can start the process by requesting accommodations online.
We start reviewing documentation in mid May and will email incoming students after reviewing their documentation. Once you receive an email confirming your eligibility, be sure to set up your intake appointment via phone, WebEx, or in-person for summer appointments.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our front desk at (406) 994-2824 or [email protected].
What to expect during your first meeting?
No Preparation Needed: The primary goal is to understand your needs after the specialist has reviewed your request. Just come as you are and be ready to share any concerns or preferences you might have.
During your meeting, you will:
Discuss Accommodations: During the meeting, we will review the various accommodations available to you. This is an opportunity for you to learn about the different options and how they can support you effectively. We’ll walk through each accommodation, explaining how it works and how it will effectively support you during your time here at MSU.
Feel free to ask any questions or express any concerns during the meeting. We’re here to support you and make sure you have everything you need to succeed.
How soon will my accommodations begin?
After requesting an accommodation, we will generally reach out within 5 business days letting you know either:
- You need to provide additional documentation (refer to Documentation Guidelines).
- You are eligible for accommodations and should contact our front office at (406) 994-2824 to schedule an accommodations meeting.
Once you have met with your specialist and established your accommodations plan, generally your accommodations will remain in place throughout your time at Montana State University - Bozeman if they are permanent.
Please Note: You must meet with all of your faculty at least one week prior to your first exam. You will show them your Accommodation Notification and go over your accommodations needed for success in their course.
