Vice Provost Sobek will host a workshop with an overview of the policies and procedures, followed by an open Q&A session for Retention, Tenure & Promotion (RTP) candidates with members of the University RTP Committee. Examples of topics discussed include the role of the personal statement; how to best demonstrate your teaching and service in your CV, describing the integration of your teaching, research and service; and obtaining names for external review letters.  

Trauma-Informed Pedagogies: A Guide for Responding to Crisis and Inequality - Book Discussion Group

Participants will apply principles of trauma-informed pedagogies and identify practices that respond to the impact of trauma on learners and themselves. Those attending will need to have read one chapter of the book (Trauma-Informed Pedagogies: A Guide for Responding to Crisis and Inequality in Higher Education) prior to the discussion. Please come with at least one discussion question or insight of your own to pose to the group. The free electronic version of the book is available through the MSU library.

MSU Outreach and Engagement Council Accepting Proposals for Seed Grant Program Through April 14

  • Do you have an outreach idea that needs funding?
  • Are you working with a community partner that could use some extra funding?
  • Do you work with students who want to help with an outreach or engagement project?
  • Do you need to jump-start your outreach efforts that Covid negatively impacted?

The Montana State University Outreach and Engagement Council (OEC) invites proposals for FY24 Outreach and Engagement Seed Grant funds. Engagement is a critical component of the MSU Strategic Plan, Choosing Promise. The program aims to promote engagement activities involving faculty, students and staff in partnership with local and regional constituents to address the needs of citizens in Montana and beyond. OEC intends for the grants to encourage external and multidisciplinary partnerships and to leverage additional funds for engagement activities when possible.
