Mentorship and Connection Programs 

The CFE invites you to participate in our mentoring and connection programs.  

The Early Career Mentorship Program 

This traditional mentorship program is designed for faculty in their first three years at MSU (pre-tenure and early career) as well as for new instructional faculty (NTT). New faculty (Mentees) are matched with experienced faculty (Mentors) who have successfully received tenure and demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and service. 

Colleague Connections Program  

The Colleague Connection Program is a new program that offers opportunities for mid- and late-career post-tenured faculty (Colleagues) to connect with other faculty (Connectors) with the goal of enriching their social connections and professional networks at MSU and beyond. 

MSU’s Mentoring Vision and Goals 

These CFE programs seek to cultivate the spirit of collegiality by focusing our vision of mentorship on MSU’s spirit of community, collaboration, and leadership. This goal is supported by connecting colleagues and providing support and guidance throughout their careers. Conscientious collegiality and mentorship are developed through intentional and reflective practices to support faculty at all levels and career stages. 

These programs will help us achieve our goal of creating a community that supports our mission of integrating a spirit of belonging, education, the creation of knowledge and art, and service to communities.   

Early Career Mentoring Program 

The Colleague Connection Program 

This program is for faculty in their first three years. The program is open to pre-tenure and instructional faculty (NTT).    This program is for mid- and late-career faculty (post tenured).   
The primary goal is to guide early career faculty toward excellence in teaching, research, and service.  The primary goal is to further academic and professional career goals after tenure and enrich social connections and professional networks at MSU.

Pairs commit to attending informal social events with the CFE to introduce the program. 

Pairs meet twice per month at their discretion each semester for informal discussions.
