GPHY 358: GPS Mapping Service Learning

Course Information
Co-requisite: GPHY 357
GPHY 358 is a service learning course in which students gain experience working on real-world projects in cooperation with community partners. Students may choose to work on one of three projects:
- Section 001: Trail Mapping in cooperation with Gallatin County GIS
Trail Mapping Project
- Section 002: E-911 Mapping in cooperation with City of Bozeman Fire and GIS Departments
E-911 Mapping Project
- Section 003: Canal Mapping in cooperation with Gallatin County GIS and the Association
of Gallatin Agricultural Irrigators (AGAI)
AGAI Canal Mapping Project
All required materials will be posted on the class Desire2Learn site.

The labs for all courses are held in the state-of-the-art MSU Spatial Sciences Center (SSC) computer facility in Leon Johnson Hall Room 209. The facility is equipped with 20 fully networked computers, plus one teaching computer. Additional equipment includes a projector, document camera, and audio/visual capabilities.
