Quantum Research
Funded projects:
MonArk Quantum Foundry
The MonArk Quantum Foundry is an NSF program that is jointly led by Montana State University and the University of Arkansas, with the overarching mission to accelerate two-dimensional materials research fo0r quantum technologies in the U.S.
NSF Engines
QCORE will build on strong existing programs in our three-state region (MT, WY, and ID) to create an innovation ecosystem that will address key gaps in the national Quantum Supply Chain (QSC) which includes quantum materials, quantum devices, and support systems for the quantum system such as electronics, photonics, and cryogenics.
AFRL Applied Quantum CORE
With a new $26.7 million grant from the U.S. Air Force, Montana State University will establish a facility with the mission of moving advanced quantum technology applications in cybersecurity, communications technology and national defense from concept and testing to market. The 20-month grant will support MSU’s Applied Quantum CORE facility, to be located at the MSU Innovation Campus. The grant funding will purchase equipment to test prototype quantum components in the extremely cold environments in which they operate.
