To be considered for a Noyce Master Teaching Fellow (MTF), applicants must complete and submit:
- Noyce MTF Application and Survey Form with yourresume/CV and personal statement
- One recommendation form from your school principal or superintendent [give this link to your school principal or superintendent]
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien.
- Demonstrate a commitment to teach and serve for five or six years in a high-need local educational agency partnering with MSU.
- Hold a valid teacher certification or licensure.
- Possess a bachelor’s or master's degree in education or a STEM discipline.
- Intends to enroll in a master's degree program if holding only a bachelor's degree.
- Hold at least two years of teaching experience in science or mathematics.
- Teach 3rd – 12th grade science and mathematics classes in a partner high-need school district.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be selected by using the following:
- Commitment and merits
- Equal distribution between science and math MTFs
- Equal distribution between MTFs with a master's degree and without a master’s degree
Awarded MTFs will be notified by early July 2024 and are expected to attend the 2024 STEM Summer Institute (August 5 - 7) and MTF orientation (August 7 - 8). Interviews may be scheduled if necessary. Applicants who complete application materials but are not awarded a Master Teaching Fellowship will be granted a small stipend provided by the NSF Building Capacity to Develop STEM Teacher Leaders project.
