US 101US Special Sections
The First Year Seminar program offers two special sections of US 101US each Fall semester:
US 101US: First Year Seminar for Veteran and Non-Traditional Students:
For our Veteran and Non-Traditional Students, we offer a special section of US 101US each Fall, geared specifically towards the needs of Vet and Non-Trad students and taught by an instructor with experience working with these student groups.
US 101US focuses on facilitating students’ transition into college. For Vet and Non-Trad students this means helping them figure out how to get back into the swing of school, since for many of our students in these groups, it has been a while since high school.
For more information on this special section and its instructor, see this semester's informational flyer.
For additional Veteran resources and support, see the MSU Veteran Services webpage.
US 101US: First Year Seminar for Native American Students
For our Native American students, we offer a special section of US 101US each Fall, geared specifically towards the needs of Native students and taught by a Native instructor, selected in collaboration with American Indian/Alaska Native Student Success Services.
US 101US focuses on the transition to college. For Native students, this means learning from each other’s unique perspectives that may highlight cultural backgrounds/heritages and participating in discussion in which Indigenous practices, beliefs, and current issues are key themes.
For more information on this special section and its instructor, see this semester's informational flyer.
For additional resources and support, see the MSU American Indian/Alaska Native Student Success Services webpage.
