To make the most of your time in Bozeman, MSU invites students to take part in several programs which complement your Orientation/Class Registration session. Expeditions MSU and Adventures MSU help students engage with their peers, provide networking opportunities with mentors throughout the campus community and help students become even more excited about calling MSU and Bozeman home.

Want to make new friends, build a community and explore the wild side of Montana?  Join the Outdoor Recreation Program on Expeditions MSU, a five-day, four-night journey to explore and engage with fellow incoming students as you experience the natural wonders of Montana. You will learn skills to help navigate both the wilderness and the college environment through a fun and challenging group experience.  

This program is catered specifically to incoming first-year students and is designed to be an incredible community-building outdoor experience. Groups are purposely kept small, no more than 10 students plus 2-3 student trip leaders. No experience is necessary to participate, all you need is a positive attitude!

Adventures MSU

Beginning college is the ultimate adventure and gaining the tools to succeed is the ultimate opportunity. The adventure of making new friends and exploring Bozeman coupled with the adventure of a high-ropes course, canoeing, hiking and relaxing in the great outdoors makes Adventures MSU an adventure you won’t want to miss.

We’ll ensure your first semester is a huge success with learning management presentations and career development principals taught by our expert staff. Early move-in and peer connections in this three-day adventure plus additional self-reflection and exploration papers throughout the semester make this jump-start opportunity a 1 credit class.
